Intelsat, a prominent operator of global satellite and terrestrial networks, has teamed up with Cloudcast Digital Limited (CDL), a technology-driven satcom solutions provider based in India, to enhance satellite communication connectivity across the country. Through Intelsat's FlexMove platform, they aim to extend land mobile services to remote areas in India, addressing the challenges of connectivity in hard-to-reach locations. CDL's technological services are administered by Planetcast Media Services Limited (Planetcast), a leading provider of teleport and video platform services.

Planetcast has been a longstanding customer of Intelsat, utilizing satellites like Intelsat 17 and Intelsat 20 for video distribution services within India. Building upon their partnership, in 2022, CDL and Intelsat introduced Flex services in India. This initiative combined Intelsat's satellite capacity, a Flex gateway in Noida, India, and CDL's In-Flight and Maritime Connectivity (IFMC) license to offer FlexMaritime services for vessels navigating Indian waters. Flex services streamline the provision of broadband services and connectivity to enterprise and mobility customers globally.

Expanding their collaboration, Intelsat and CDL are now introducing FlexMove capabilities across India. This advancement will enable CDL to deliver land-mobile services, facilitating rapid response for disaster relief operations, border security, police forces, and relief agencies through vehicle-mounted and backpack solutions for communication needs. Additionally, other Flex services like FlexEnterprise and FlexExec will cater to maritime, enterprise, business jet, land mobile, and media service requirements in India.
