Teltronic successfully organized the conference “5G and MCX in Action: Practical Insights for FRMCS and Rail Digitalization”, held as part of the Rail Live! event. The conference highlighted real-world applications of broadband networks and MCX (Mission-Critical Services) technology in transportation environments, providing attendees with valuable insights into the future of rail communications.

The event demonstrated reliable train-to-ground communications for voice and video transmission services. Live use cases included various types of calls—such as group and emergency calls—made from a tram operating in real time through Zaragoza’s streets. These calls connected seamlessly to the control center and other terminals, showcasing interoperability with legacy systems like TETRA technology.

Teltronic also introduced innovative applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in real-time rail operations. Demonstrations showed how AI enhances autonomous driving, detects obstacles on tracks, anticipates railway infrastructure needs, and analyzes passenger behavior to improve service efficiency and safety.

To fully leverage these capabilities, the conference emphasized the necessity of private 5G networks. These systems ensure maximum availability, high data transmission rates, and ultra-low latency—key features for supporting advanced rail operations.
