Dubai, United Arab Emirates – July 2026 – TASSTA, a global leading provider of Mission Critical Services (MCX) platform. has been selected as part of the integrated communications ecosystem for the Dubai Metro Blue Line, one of the Middle East's most significant public transportation infrastructure projects.

The communications deployment follows the selection of Zetron's ACOM Unified Communications System (UCS) by Esharah, a subsidiary of the Dubai government's Professional Communication Corporation – Nedaa. The solution will provide a highly resilient and geo-redundant communications environment by integrating Airbus TETRA, TASSTA MCX, and other telephony services into a single operational platform.

Under the project, operators across primary and backup control centres, as well as remote operational sites, will be able to manage mission-critical communications through one unified interface. The integrated platform is designed to deliver the interoperability, resilience, and operational continuity required by a metro network expected to serve hundreds of thousands of passengers daily.

The Dubai Metro Blue Line represents a major expansion of Dubai's rail infrastructure. The AED20.5 billion project comprises a 30-kilometre route with 14 stations, including underground and elevated sections, connecting key districts such as Dubai Creek Harbour, International City, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Academic City, Mirdif, and Al Warqa. The line is scheduled to commence operations in September 2029, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the Dubai Metro.

According to Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the Blue Line will serve nine key districts with an anticipated population of approximately one million residents by 2040 and is expected to carry around 200,000 passengers per day by 2030, rising to 320,000 daily passengers by 2040. The project forms a cornerstone of Dubai's long-term vision for sustainable mobility, smart infrastructure, and connected urban development.

The inclusion of TASSTA MCX in the Dubai Metro Blue Line communications architecture further highlights the growing role of 3GPP-based mission-critical broadband technologies in supporting next-generation transport networks, where seamless interoperability between broadband MCX platforms, legacy TETRA systems, and unified dispatch environments is becoming increasingly essential for safe, efficient, and resilient metro operations.
