To mark 112 Day, the European Emergency Number Association (EENA) has published two new reports aimed at supporting improvement, transparency and benchmarking across emergency communications in Europe.

The newly released publications provide valuable insights into the organisation, performance and accessibility of emergency services, helping authorities and stakeholders assess current capabilities and identify areas for future development.

PSAP 2025 Report – Europe Edition

EENA’s latest PSAP 2025 Report – Europe Edition delivers a comprehensive overview of how Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) are structured and evolving across Europe. The report maps national and regional PSAP models, operational approaches and technical capabilities, offering comparative analysis across countries.

Key focus areas include readiness for Next Generation 112, caller location requirements, and preparedness for IMS-based eCall. The report serves as a practical benchmarking tool for policymakers, regulators and emergency service organisations working to modernise emergency communications.

Accessibility Report Card

EENA has also published its first-ever Accessibility Report Card, assessing how accessible emergency communications function in practice across the EU, Norway and the UK. Based on input from EENA members, the report highlights both progress and remaining gaps in ensuring equal access to emergency services.

The findings cover critical areas such as Real-Time Text (RTT) and Total Conversation readiness, roaming capabilities, and the reliability of interim accessibility solutions, including SMS, mobile applications and web-based services.

Together, the two reports reinforce EENA’s commitment to improving emergency communications, promoting inclusivity, and supporting evidence-based decision-making across Europe.
