Smiths Falls Fire Department (SFFD) has successfully upgraded its legacy dispatch console system with the InterTalk Dispatch Console System, developed by InterTalk Critical Information Systems (InterTalk) in partnership with Frontline Communications. The state-of-the-art system includes LTE radio backhaul capabilities, enabling SFFD to provide dispatch services for neighboring departments with minimal on-site equipment requirements. This milestone underscores InterTalk’s dedication to delivering innovative communication solutions tailored to public safety agencies across North America.

As part of a broader renovation of its communications center, SFFD initiated a comprehensive search for a modern dispatch solution through a rigorous tender process. InterTalk emerged as the ideal partner, offering a system that met the department's technical and operational needs.

A key component of the solution was InterTalk’s Sentinel IP Radio Gateway, which ensures seamless dispatching for neighboring fire departments by leveraging public safety-grade LTE cellular backhaul to route radio traffic back to SFFD’s communications center.
