Madrid, Spain 2026 – Amper has been awarded the contract for the “Service for the Modernization of the Audio Integration System (AIS) at the Central Control Centre” of Madrid Metro.
This contract represents a strategic milestone for Amper, reinforcing its collaboration with Spain’s largest transport network and one of the most significant metro systems worldwide. With more than 290 kilometres of track and a network of over 300 stations that continues to expand, Madrid Metro is comparable in scale and passenger volume to the metro systems of major international capitals and serves as a key driver of urban mobility and regional development.
The project includes the modernization of the Audio System at Madrid Metro’s Central Control Centre. The solution incorporates a robust cybersecurity layer and centralizes and optimizes station and train radio communications (UHF, VHF and TETRA), as well as selective and automatic telephony. It upgrades audio technologies and operational tools to provide operators with an integrated communications management platform, improving the efficiency, flexibility, resilience and sustainability of railway operations.
The system is based on GEMYC, Amper’s proprietary Critical Communications Management technology, certified under Spain’s National Security Framework (Esquema Nacional de Seguridad – ENS) at High Level.
With this project, Amper further strengthens its position in the critical communications sector and reinforces its commitment to technological autonomy and sovereignty in strategic infrastructures, ensuring the control and protection of systems that require the highest standards of availability, security and service continuity.
