This week, more than 2,000 public safety professionals, senior government officials and law enforcement leaders will gather in Dallas for the Professionalizing Law Enforcement-Community Engagement Training (PLECET) National Conference. Running from May 27 to May 31, the five-day summit is dedicated to training and professional development for sworn and civilian personnel assigned to community engagement roles.

The conference is led by Atlanta-based MovementForward, Inc., a national civil and human rights organization, with the support of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, organizations and senior officials. Built on a curriculum designed around best practices in law enforcement-community engagement, the 2026 program centers on the core themes of trust and community engagement.

Law enforcement officers and agency representatives from all 50 states will participate in specialized training tracks and collaborative community service projects alongside residents throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
