Tait Communications has been named the recipient of the prestigious PwC Hi-Tech Company of the Year award at the 2026 NZ Hi-Tech Awards, recognising the company’s outstanding innovation, global growth, and leadership in mission-critical communications technology.

The award was presented during the annual NZ Hi-Tech Awards gala dinner held at Spark Arena in Auckland, attended by more than 1,300 industry leaders, government officials, and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon.

The international judging panel praised Tait Communications for its ability to continue innovating and expanding globally despite being a well-established company with a 57-year history. Judges highlighted the company’s strong performance over the past year, including surpassing the NZ$500 million revenue milestone through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

The panel also recognised Tait’s expansion into new international markets and its development of advanced communication technologies that strengthen its competitiveness on the global stage.

CEO and Managing Director Yoram Benit said the award reflects the dedication and commitment of the company’s employees worldwide.

“This recognition reflects the dedication of our people, who work tirelessly to keep customers safe and connected when failure is not an option,” said Benit. “Tait is built on the legacy of our founder, Sir Angus Tait, and this award recognises both that legacy and the strength of our strategy as we continue to innovate, expand globally, and shape the future of the company.”

Benit also congratulated the other finalists and winners, describing the NZ Hi-Tech Awards as a celebration of excellence across New Zealand’s technology sector.

Other finalists in the category included Aroa Biosurgery, Auror, Dawn Aerospace, Gallagher Group, and Halter.

Tait Communications also continued its longstanding support of the industry through sponsorship of the Flying Kiwi Award, which honours individuals who have made significant contributions to New Zealand’s technology sector. The award was presented by Chief Marketing Officer Maria Rowe to Vaughan Fergusson, who was inducted into the NZ Hi-Tech Hall of Fame for his entrepreneurial leadership, mentorship, and philanthropic work through the Pam Fergusson Charitable Trust.

The NZ Hi-Tech Awards recognise excellence across New Zealand’s software, electronics, telecommunications, agritech, mobile, and creative technology industries, celebrating organisations that continue to drive innovation and global success.
